Assignment Station Idents
Station Ident is a distinctive flagship animation of the station’s or network’s logo. You are to create five different station idents for a particular television channel or network of your choice. Ensure that you have done extensive background research on the selected television channel or network in terms of its identity, core values, current network package and the justifications to revamp their station idents.
The animation sequence of the station idents should be consistent in terms of the branding, storyline and graphic styles of the television channel or network. The duration of each station ident should not exceed 10 seconds. The end product should be a sample showreel of the all the station idents created; each ident should be labelled clearly with the title or theme of the ident before it is displayed. Network package templates offered online by all means are not permissible to be used in this assignment.
Analysis of my work
For the first indent is the Comedy genre here I used bright colours with matching laughter for the audio. When the show gets funnier the smile are increasing widens until the TvN logo appears.
As for the second indent, it is a fantasy genre I used a drama called idle mermaid for the showreel. Using animations on the tail and hair as well as the bubble popping I included with a bubble popping audio.
For the third indent, I used the crime genre usually accompanied with investigations and thrillers. First, I focused on the fingerprint on the knife and goes to the jar of blue pill which may have been the cause of fight and lead to murder. And the audio used is to add more suspense toward the visualisation.
The fourth indent is about horror genre, here I used the usual Korean ghost that is wearing the white “hanbok” that is usually used to dress the dead. For the audio I used audio of a unique instrument that is very commonly used for horror stories.
The fifth indent is about the romance genre, bright pink colours are used inspired from spring flower cherry blossoms. The colours and audio used is to match the mood and atmosphere of the indent.
